ABOUT

Engineer. Off the clock, I play the Bass guitar and do music.

I sit at the intersection of three disciplines most engineers treat as separate: I build the platforms teams ship on, I keep them reliable, and I keep them secure. I am a creative thinker and a problem solver first. The tools (Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Argo CD, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog) are how that shows up at work. I've architected multi-tenant Kubernetes environments, embedded security scanning as a non-negotiable pipeline gate, and automated identity and access governance across MFA, SSO, SAML, and OIDC.

I also work extensively with AI infrastructure, GPU compute, containerised model serving, and MLOps pipelines, deploying and optimising ML workloads in production, not just in notebooks. At DFgates, that meant standing up Kubernetes clusters and GPU servers across AWS, GCP, Nebius AI, and RunPod, and shipping a CI/CD pipeline that improved model inference speed by 25%.

Security isn't a phase I bolt on at the end, it's built into how I design systems from day one. I've embedded SAST, DAST, SCA, and secrets scanning as mandatory pipeline gates, configured TLS/SSL and Cloudflare DDoS protection for production APIs, and implemented least-privilege IAM and Key Vault encryption across multi-tenant Azure environments. That same instinct is why I built Argus Scan, an open-source tool that unifies 20+ security scanners behind a single CLI.

I'm currently a Senior Platform Engineer at Admiral Group Plc. Outside of my day job, I write about DevOps and cloud security, speak at industry events (including SRE Day London, September 2026), mentor engineers entering the field, and build open-source tools for the SRE and platform engineering community including DeAgent, an autonomous incident-response agent, Argus Scan, and LoopMark, a LangGraph AI marketing agent. I'm also the founder of the Luton Creative & Technology Collaboration Community, bringing cloud, DevOps, AI, and cybersecurity together with music, creativity, and personal growth, because that is how I actually live.

How I show up

Creative thinker

When the obvious path is blocked, I look at the problem from another angle. That is arranging, that is architecture, that is a bassline that should not work and then does.

Problem solver

I like the messy ones. Find the cause, fix it, leave the system clearer than I found it. Panic is optional. Curiosity is not.

Humour

I take the work seriously. I do not take myself that seriously. A dry joke in a long incident is not a lack of care. It is how I stay human in it.

Off the clock

The work is real. So is the rest. I play games, I arrange music, and I get properly lost in music. This is not a hobby list bolted onto a CV. It is the other half of how I spend my attention.

Games

I play games. The systems, the stories, a round that turns into three. Rest, and a different kind of problem to sit with.

Music arranging

I arrange music. Taking a piece apart, deciding what sits where, and putting it back so the whole thing breathes. Same instinct I bring to systems.

Bass playing

I do play the Bass guitar. Not as background. In it. Time goes, the rest of the day can wait.

How I work

Evidence before action.

Whether it's an incident or an architecture decision, I want logs, metrics, and context first not guesses.

Security is a default, not a step.

Scanning, secrets management, and least-privilege access are built into the pipeline, not added after launch.

Automate the toil, not the thinking.

I build automation and AI tooling to remove repetitive work, but the judgment calls stay human.

Concepts outlast tools.

Tools change every few years; understanding why something works doesn't. I optimise for the latter, for myself and the engineers I mentor.

Most businesses don't notice their platform team until something breaks, so my goal is always to be the reason it doesn't. Then I get lost in music.
